Privacy & data protection
We keep data collection as light as our tours. This page explains what personal data we process when you use historicberlinpromenades.de, why, and the rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Who is responsible
Historic Berlin Promenades is a small independent walking-tour business based in Berlin, Germany. For any privacy question, contact us at hello@historicberlinpromenades.de.
Placeholder note: before publication, add the full legal operator name and postal address here (in Germany a Datenschutzerklärung and Impressum with these details are legally required).
What data we process
Contact form: when you send a request, we process the name, email address and message you enter, so we can reply and arrange a tour.
Server logs: our hosting provider automatically records technical data (such as your IP address, browser type and the time of the request) to deliver the site and keep it secure.
Preferences: we store your chosen language and your cookie choice locally in your browser (see “Cookies & local storage”). This is not sent to us.
Third parties we use
Formspree (form delivery): the contact form is processed by Formspree to email your request to us. The data you enter is transmitted to Formspree for that purpose. See formspree.io for their privacy terms.
OVHcloud (hosting & email): the website and the hello@ mailbox are hosted by OVHcloud in the EU/EEA, which processes server logs and email on our behalf.
Google Fonts: page fonts are loaded from Google’s font service, which may receive your IP address when the fonts load. If you prefer to avoid this, we can self-host the fonts on request.
Cookies & local storage
This website does not use advertising or analytics tracking cookies. We do not build profiles or follow you across other sites.
We only store two small, functional items in your browser’s local storage: your language preference and whether you dismissed the consent banner. You can clear these any time via your browser settings.
Legal basis & retention
We process contact-form data on the basis of your request / pre-contractual steps (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Server logs are processed on the basis of legitimate interest in a secure service.
We keep enquiry emails only as long as needed to handle your request and any follow-up, then delete them. Server logs are kept for a limited period by the hosting provider.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and port your data, and to object to processing based on legitimate interest. You may withdraw consent at any time.
To exercise any right, email hello@historicberlinpromenades.de. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority (in Berlin: Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit).
